The International Centre Ukrainian House UK is delighted to announce another important step in the development of our community work. We have secured our third successful grant, this time with the support of Warrington Charities Trust.
Every grant helps us strengthen a different part of our work and create more opportunities for Ukrainian and British communities to connect.
Thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund, we continue to develop our public health initiative, “Blood Solidarity – Drop of Life,” which raises awareness of the importance of blood donation and encourages community participation.
Support from the Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund has also helped us improve our communication capacity by enabling the purchase of professional equipment for our community media studio and radio activities.
Now, the new grant from Warrington Charities Trust will allow us to bring Ukrainian culture directly to the local community through a dedicated Day of Ukrainian Culture in Lymm this September.
What will the event include?
Ukrainian Embroidery Workshops
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover traditional Ukrainian embroidery through interactive workshops.
These creative sessions will provide a welcoming space for families and community members to learn about Ukrainian heritage, spend time together and experience traditional crafts.
Ukrainian Food and Hospitality
A cultural food display will introduce local residents to Ukrainian hospitality, traditions and customs.
Food is an important part of Ukrainian identity and is often at the centre of family and community life. The display will help create opportunities for conversation, cultural exchange and new connections.
Youth Music and Traditional Performance
The event will celebrate young talent through live performances, traditional Ukrainian singing and the distinctive sound of the bandura.
Music brings people together across languages and cultures, and we are proud to create opportunities for young people to share their talents with the wider community.
“Blood Solidarity – Drop of Life”
The event will also include a dedicated public awareness area for our National Lottery-supported initiative, “Blood Solidarity – Drop of Life.”
Visitors will be able to learn more about the importance of blood donation and how individual action can help save lives and support the NHS.
Our role is to raise awareness and encourage civic participation. Official information about blood donation eligibility and the donation process will be provided through NHS Blood and Transplant resources.
Building Stronger Communities
This event reflects our wider mission: to support integration, promote Ukrainian culture and create meaningful connections between Ukrainian and British communities.
From public health awareness and community radio to cultural events and youth activities, each project helps us develop a stronger, more visible and more connected community.
Step by step, and grant by grant, we continue to turn ideas into practical projects with lasting social value.
We are very grateful to the Trustees of Warrington Charities Trust for supporting this initiative and believing in our vision.
We also thank The National Lottery Community Fund, Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund, ALL FM 96.9, our partners, volunteers and community members for their continued support.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to Lymm this September.
More information about the programme, venue and event time will be announced soon.
