“Li-to Party” in Bolton: Performances, Shashlik, Blood Donation and Support for Ukraine

A Festive Atmosphere

The day was filled with live performances, traditional songs and dancing, creating a true sense of warmth and unity. And, of course, no Ukrainian celebration would be complete without delicious shashlik, whose wonderful aroma brought guests of all ages together around the grill. 🍢

Talking About What Matters

Alongside the celebrations, the event provided an important opportunity to speak with members of the community about blood donation and the valuable role Ukrainian donors can play in supporting NHS Blood and Transplant and saving lives across the UK.

Ruslan Panchyshyn and Anatolii Shalaiev introduced guests to the “Drop of Life – Blood Solidarity” initiative, led by the International Centre Ukrainian House UK, which encourages Ukrainians living in the UK to register as blood donors.

They also highlighted that donated blood is urgently needed in Ukraine. Ukrainians and British citizens who visit Ukraine can also consider donating blood there and helping to save lives, provided they meet the relevant medical and eligibility requirements.

Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine

During the event, donations were also collected in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was another powerful reminder that, even thousands of miles from home, the Ukrainian community remains united and deeply committed to supporting its country.
