Blood Solidarity Inspires Community Leaders and New Donors: Backed by TERN Network & Captured by Photographer Galyna Zanyk

Meaningful social initiatives born from the heart carry the unique power to unite communities and save lives. The “Blood Solidarity: Drop of Life” campaign, initiated by Anatolii Shalaiev (Director of International Centre Ukrainian House UK and participant in the #STEP program) alongside Prof. Ruslan Panchyshyn, continues to grow, welcoming new partners, advocates, and donors across the United Kingdom.

Recently, business mentors and fellow entrepreneurs from TERN (The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network) joined the movement, sharing their own blood donation journeys and actively encouraging both the Ukrainian and British communities to register with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). Their personal testimonies prove that donating blood is quick, safe, virtually painless, and profoundly impactful.

Adding a visual voice to our mission, our talented photographer Galyna Zanyk captured an inspiring photo story featuring a Ukrainian donor during her donation session. Galyna’s powerful lens beautifully highlights the empathy, courage, and human connection that define the donor journey.

We extend our deep gratitude to The National Lottery Community Fund for backing the “Drop of Life” initiative, to World Jewish Relief for championing refugee entrepreneurship in the UK, and to the entire TERN network for standing with us in solidarity.

Doing it for yourself and doing it for others — because a small moment of your time can mean an entire lifetime for someone else.
