Blood Donation Conversation with the Ukrainian Community in Macclesfield

Kseniia Loban spoke to participants about the importance of blood donation, answering questions and addressing common concerns about the donation process. The session gave attendees the opportunity to learn more about becoming a regular blood donor and why every donation matters for patients in need.

Ruslan Panchyshyn, Director of the International Centre Ukrainian House UK, welcomed participants and spoke about the scale of the Blood Solidarity initiative and its significance for the Ukrainian community in the UK.

The meeting was organised by Iryna Rumiantseva, who previously shared her own donor story on air on the Razom radio programme.

This event was delivered as part of the Blood Solidarity initiative by the International Centre Ukrainian House UK, in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant and made possible through the support of The National Lottery Community Fund.

Together, we are raising awareness, strengthening community engagement, and inspiring more people to give the gift of life.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to this important conversation. Your willingness to learn, share, and support this initiative will help save lives across the UK.

We also encourage both Ukrainians and British citizens who are travelling to Ukraine to donate blood whenever possible. The need for donated blood for Ukrainian military personnel and civilians remains critically high!
