We had the privilege of attending the opening of the moving photo exhibition “YOUR HOME, YOUR TEAM” in Liverpool, dedicated to FC Shakhtar and Ukrainian Donetsk.
The atmosphere was deeply touching and inspiring—a space where childhood memories, the spirit of the stadium stands, and the resilience of a community displaced by war came together.
As Director of the International Centre Ukrainian House UK CIC, I had the honour of presenting our community campaign, Blood Solidarity. During the event, we connected with FC Shakhtar representatives, devoted fans, and military supporters who joined to share their stories. We discussed the vital role of civic unity, mutual support, and fostering a strong culture of blood donation to save lives.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the organiser Viktoriia Olishevska (University of Liverpool), the SHIDNIITURE project, and the University of Liverpool for hosting such an essential event preserving Eastern Ukraine’s heritage and identity.
