The International Centre Ukrainian House UK CIC is proud to announce that two members of its leadership team have been recognised as finalists in two prestigious categories of the Best of Manchester Awards 2026, celebrating individuals and organisations making an outstanding contribution to communities across Greater Manchester.
The organisation was represented at two official nominees’ receptions held at the historic Manchester Town Hall, recognising achievements in community cohesion and public wellbeing.
Anatolii Shalaiev, representing the International Centre Ukrainian House UK CIC and the Ukrainian-language “Razom” radio programme on ALLFM 96.9, was recognised as a finalist for his contribution to bringing communities together.
This nomination recognises his work in connecting people through community media, volunteering, civic engagement and intercultural dialogue. Through the weekly “Razom” programme on ALLFM 96.9 – the UK’s only regular Ukrainian-language FM radio programme—as well as numerous community initiatives, Anatolii has helped strengthen relationships between Ukrainian, British and other communities across Greater Manchester.
On 15 September, Professor Ruslan Panchyshyn, Director of the International Centre Ukrainian House UK CIC, represented the organisation as a finalist in the Supporting Healthier, Happier Communities category.
His nomination recognises his leadership in promoting community health, wellbeing and resilience through projects that make a real difference to people’s lives. Among these is the #BLOODSOLIDARITY – Drop of Life campaign, delivered by the International Centre Ukrainian House UK CIC with the support of The National Lottery Community Fund, encouraging blood donation and strengthening solidarity between Ukrainian and British communities.
During the receptions, it was a particular honour to receive the support of the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Shaukat Ali, who recognised the importance of the #BLOODSOLIDARITY – Drop of Life initiative and the wider contribution of the International Centre Ukrainian House UK CIC to community life in Greater Manchester.
These nominations reflect the growing impact of the International Centre Ukrainian House UK CIC and its commitment to building stronger, more inclusive and healthier communities. Through projects in health, education, culture, humanitarian support, civic participation and community media, the organisation continues to create opportunities for people from different backgrounds to work together and support one another.
