On September 4–5, the unique multimedia exhibition “CHOICE” was held in Stockport in partnership with HoneyCombs HUB CIC. The showcase offered a candid artistic narrative created by two young Ukrainian women — Karolina Kanska and Daria Protsenko — whose paths crossed here in the United Kingdom.
The “CHOICE” project explores themes of rehabilitation, settling into a new environment in England, preserving identity, and the daily decisions that shape human lives.
A Space for Reflection, Change, and Hope
The exhibition brought together diverse artistic mediums, including photography, digital installations, video art, sculpture, and interactive performance. The artists invited visitors into an emotional space reflecting the Ukrainian journey — from displacement and integration challenges to inner resilience, new connections, and hope.
A core focus was placed on video works that highlighted personal stories of adapting to life in the UK and navigating recovery through creativity.
An Interactive Choice: Blood Solidarity as Part of the Exhibition
A key component of the showcase was a life-affirming choice: blood donation. Our Blood Solidarity — “Drop of Life” campaign, which promotes blood donation among the Ukrainian community across the UK, was directly woven into the exhibition’s interactive lineup.
Through a dedicated interactive game organized with the support of volunteer Melana, attendees learned about the impact of blood donation. The activity highlighted how a single, conscious decision can save up to three lives, serving as a vital gesture of solidarity and civic engagement.
Community Recognition and Solidarity
The event was attended by team representatives Anatolii Shalaiev and Ruslan Panchyshyn, who congratulated the organizers on a successful launch. They presented official certificates of appreciation to Karolina Kanska and Daria Protsenko in recognition of their creative contributions, their honest portrayal of the migrant adaptation experience, and their active support of vital community initiatives.
“This exhibition proves that art is not only a form of personal expression and healing, but also a powerful vehicle for bringing people together and inspiring real action. Every choice we make matters, and we are proud to stand alongside such driven community members,” the team noted.
