Mother’s Day Celebration at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Stockport: Music, Poetry and a Blood Donation Initiative

The Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Stockport hosted a warm and inspiring Mother’s Day celebration, bringing together the Ukrainian community for an evening dedicated to culture, family values, and an important social initiative — promoting blood donation as part of the “BLOOD SOLIDARITY – DROP OF LIFE: Ukrainian Donors in the UK” project.

The festive concert created a heartfelt atmosphere of unity and gratitude towards mothers. The programme featured Ukrainian songs, poetry, and live music performances. Both children’s groups and an adult choir took part, delivering emotional performances that filled the hall with warmth, joy, and a strong sense of community.

A key moment of the event was the presentation of the blood donation initiative. The Director of the International Centre Ukrainian House in UK Ruslan Panchyshyn spoke about the importance of building a strong culture of voluntary blood donation among Ukrainians in the United Kingdom, emphasizing that every donor can help save lives.

Singer Nadiya VERBA also supported the initiative during the event, performing on stage and encouraging guests to join the donor movement as an act of solidarity, humanity, and care for others.

The event in Stockport became a powerful example of how Ukrainian culture, music, and civic responsibility can come together in one space. The Mother’s Day celebration was filled with love, gratitude, and unity, leaving guests inspired to take meaningful action.
